 Mark Coulter - oils

Mark has been interested in painting his whole life. In 2002 he began to seriously study modern impressionism
and the western landscape, using oil as his medium. Although he has taken workshops with several well-known
Denver artists, such as Quang Ho, Kim English and Ron Hicks, and counts many more Colorado artists as friends
and colleagues, Mark considers himself primarily self-taught. Mark's work has been accepted into national and
international exhibitions ranging from the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition, Arts for the Parks, Salon
International to exhibitions at the Art Students League of Denver. Believing that a balance of outdoor and studio
painting are essential to understanding the subtleties of painting the landscape, Mark helped form the Plein Air Artists
Colorado group in 2005, and in 2006 worked with several other artists to initiate the annual Nomadas del Arte Southwest
Plein Air Exhibition.
